Nowadays graffiti is considered a form of communication, by which are issued messages trying to persuade others. This is a type of writing that appropriates spaces not designed for that purpose, such as streets, walls and public baths. For being part of every culture, graffiti can be perceived differently from one city to another.
- Colombia: The presence of graffiti has increased significantly over the last 10 years. Despite being one of the most stable Latin American cities, Bogotá is very insecure because of these expressions, which capture the inequality, violence and intolerance of some citizens who are victims.
- Argentina: Buenos Aires is full of free spaces for inspired artists who want to express their style. It is gratifying for them to know that this form of communication is not considered vandalism and your only limit is imagination. People consider that graffiti show the incredible talent of the artists and give life to the city.
- Honduras: Tegucigalpa's city is synonim of violence. Usually, the artists put on a mask to hide his identity, which means that the realization of graffiti is a crime. The walls are also used to promote slogans.
- Brazil: Although graffiti is illegal in Brazil, the country has earned an international reputation as a place to go to appreciate the artistic inspiration of its exponents, who reflected mainly politicians and corruption issues.
The graffiti are a street art as seen in the description of each country has different connotations and is not accepted by all.
ResponderBorrarI'm agree with you about Colombia, Honduras and Brasil messages about graffitis but in Buenos Aires I think that the graffitis express the art but in some of them is expreses the problems of the society.
ResponderBorrarI totally agree with you, Graffiti is a form to express the non-conformism with the society in many countries of Latin America, specially Brazil, Colombia and Honduras in which there are many violence and corruption problems.

But like Laura, I want to add that in Buenos Aires not only has this use because we can see that they use graffitis in many different ways, the used it to protest against the deforestation, social troubles and just to express their style.
